McLaren Central Michigan ReadyCare Walk-In Clinic Adds Weekend Hours, Hosts Summer Safety Day

McLaren Central Michigan, part of statewide McLaren Health Care, has expanded its urgent care services, increasing access for patients by adding weekend hours to its ReadyCare Walk-In Clinic in Mount Pleasant.

Effective Mon., April 29, the clinic, located at 1523 South Mission between East Preston and East Broomfield Street, will maintain weekend hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. The office will also expand its weekday hours to 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.

“Incidents and conditions requiring prompt care can occur at any time, and we view it as our commitment and responsibility to meet the needs of the families and people of Mount Pleasant,” said Robert David, McLaren Central Michigan President and CEO. “We are very pleased and grateful to be in the position to expand the clinic’s operations and open access to the care our community needs, especially considering how close we are to the summer season.”

To recognize the enhanced access and celebrate the changing of the season, the hospital and its staff are hosting Summer Safety Day on Tues., April 30 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

The informational family fun event will leave parents and children with valuable and applicable knowledge to protect against and initially treat health issues common to the spring and summer seasons.

Along with free giveaways, games, and prizes, attendees will become more knowledge on:

  • Swim safety
  • At-home first aid
  • Dog/Bug bite care
  • Before-and-after sun care
  • Heat stroke
  • R.I.C.E. therapy

Attendees will be able to meet the clinic’s providers and learn more about the location’s scope of care, which includes:

  • Cold/Flu symptoms
  • Stomach pains
  • Stitches
  • Minor orthopedic injuries
  • Sore throats and earaches
  • Minor burns
  • Urinary tract infections
