Volunteer
Resources
Central Michigan Community Hospital welcomes volunteers to
help in many areas of the hospital. All volunteers are required to
interview with the supervisor of Volunteer Resources prior to
volunteering. Please call
(989) 772-6815 to set up an interview and find out more about the many
opportunities to volunteer at Central Michigan Community Hospital.
Orientations are held twice a month for new volunteers.
There are two
specific areas of Volunteer Resources that fall under different
orientations and guidelines. Those are the Student Volunteers and the
Volunteer Chaplain Program. See below for more information.
Students
Central Michigan Community Hospital has volunteer opportunities for
students over the age 18 years old or with a high school degree.
Orientations are offered three times a year corresponding with college
semesters. These volunteers are expected to give a 25-hour per semester
commitment to volunteering at CMCH.
How do I get involved?
Chaplains
The Chaplains are another group of volunteers at CMCH. The Chaplain
Program is non-denominational and staffed by trained volunteers. The
purpose of the Chaplain Program is to provide spiritual and emotional
support for hospital patients, families, visitors, and staff. It is also
to assist the hospital in providing a holistic approach to healing and
recovery of patients. Orientation for new Chaplains is held annually.
The next orientation is scheduled for January 19, 2008. If you are interested, please call (989) 772-6815.
