healing process, improve patient functioning and prevent re-injury. CMCH
will arrange for patients who need speech, physical or occupational
therapy to obtain these services following a stroke, injury, surgery or
illness.
Physical therapy helps patients regain strength and mobility following an
injury or disease. Occupational therapy utilizes goal-oriented activities
to prevent and minimize functional limitations. Patients who are having,
difficulty living independently, because of physical, developmental or
other disabilities, may receive occupational therapy services. Speech
services will provide evaluations and therapy to patients of all ages who
have problems with speech and/or language resulting from a stroke,
traumatic brain injury, disease processes or childhood disabilities.
Speech therapy also treats memory deficits and/or difficulties.

Three Leaves Drive in Mt. Pleasant,

Same Day Surgery
Because of today's advanced medical technology, some surgical procedures
do not require a patient to stay overnight at the Hospital. Same Day
Surgery allows CMCH to reduce the inconvenience and cost typical of an
overnight stay. When a doctor suggests same day surgery, the
patient's tests and paperwork are completed prior to the scheduled
surgery. The patient is to arrive as instructed, prior to the scheduled
time of surgery. After surgery, the patient is monitored closely, in our
Same Day Recovery area until the patient has recovered from anesthesia and
is able to return home with a family member or friend.
