A community-based, locally governed organization, CMCH is committed to the health and wellness of the residents of central Michigan. The hospital was originally established through the dedication of local physicians and patrons who worked hard to raise money in a challenge from the Commonwealth Fund, a foundation which helped communities establish hospitals. Financial support in the ’50s, ‘60s and ‘70s helped expand CMCH to meet the growing needs of Isabella County residents. Central Michigan Community Hospital is Working for You Over the years CMCH has been well-maintained. These additions and renovations help to better serve our patients, visitors and guests. Both technically and aesthetically, the Hospital is an updated, innovative facility. Some of the more recent improvements include: - Wellness Central Building (1997) - New Emergency Room (1998) - Medical Arts Building (2000) - Surgery/Same Day Surgery Renovation (2000) - Medical Arts Imaging Center (2002) - 3 South Post-Surgical Unit Renovation (2003) - Permanent MRI Unit (2005) - Norval K. Morey Cancer Center (2005) - Central Michigan Health Park (2006) Through community and business advisory groups, Central Michigan Community Hospital listens to the community’s needs. Contributions from the community help us better respond to these needs, giving local residents exactly what they expect from a health care provider.
