MOUNT PLEASANT — McLaren–Central Michigan has received the McLaren Health Care “President’s Award” for its excellence in quality and fiscal leadership. The award was announced on January 18 by Phil Incarnati, President and Chief Executive Officer of the McLaren system.
The hospital will share the third-annual award with McLaren Health Plan, the system’s health insurance subsidiary. It is the first time one of the McLaren hospitals has received the honor. The hospital and heath plan will split $100,000 as part of the award.
“McLaren–Central Michigan is an extraordinary hospital,” Incarnati said. “It earns outstanding quality scores, expands its physician team and services continually, and is fiscally strong because of its ongoing attention to costs. We are proud to have McLaren–Central Michigan as part of the McLaren family.”
Incarnati cited the leadership of the McLaren–Central Michigan executive team, including President and CEO Bill Lawrence. He also noted cohesion throughout the hospital, among its doctors, nurses, staff, volunteers and local Board of Directors.
“McLaren–Central Michigan combines the services of a large, urban hospital with the quality, compassion and personal excellence of a regional hospital,” he said. “This hospital is truly committed to the well-being of its community.”
