| Year in Review
Over the past year Central Michigan Community Hospital has:
- provided health care services to more than 44,000 people.
- been selected as a Thomson Reuters 100 Top Hospital. CMCH was selected for this national award in five areas: clinical process and outcomes, patient safety, patient perception of care, operational efficiency, and financial stability.
- received the Governor’s Award of Excellence for Improving Patient Safety and Quality of Care in the Hospital Setting.
- partnered with Great Lakes Surgical Associates (Jeffrey Bonacci, MD, Ernest Cudjoe, MD, FACS James Pilkington, MD, FACS, and Jeffrey Smith, MD, FACS) to provide general surgery, endoscopic and laparoscopic procedures, and breast care to central Michigan residents.
- partnered with Franklin & Seidelmann Subspecialty Radiology (F&S) for radiology services. F&S radiologists are American Board of Radiology Board Certified, and are U.S. based and trained. F&S provides full-service radiology coverage to CMCH 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for interpretations of diagnostic imaging exams.
- begun construction of the new Heart & Vascular Center on the hospital campus. The center will include space for a catheterization lab, non-invasive diagnostics, and physician office space. The center is expected to be completed in late spring of 2010.
- welcomed three board certified cardiologists, Rodney Diehl, DO, FACC, Abraham Krepostman, MD, FACC and Sudeep Mohan, MD to the active medical staff.
- been fortunate to have more than 200 volunteers giving 24,000 hours of their time. The CMCH volunteers have donated $82,000 of charitable support for multiple projects that directly benefits patients.
- participated in and/or sponsored 268 community events and activities. These included community health education programs and screenings, health fairs and expos, and other community-building activities positively affecting quality of life.
- provided $2,941,087 in community benefit services for the central Michigan area. CMCH has a responsibility to provide traditional hospital services as well as programs and services to help people improve their health and their lives.
